I loved my private visit to Windsor Castle!

I wanted to visit Windsor Castle for a very long time, and I finally did. I loved every second of it! It was amazing to see where famous historical figures like Henry VIII lived and what their day-to-day life looked like. The castle is luxuriously decorated, and it brings the history of the British monarchy to life. I definitely recommend a visit to Windsor!

Very helpful for the private transfer

This was a really well-organized tour, and everything was on time. Windsor Castle was incredible. I especially liked seeing all the old furniture (I wish I had something similar) and the many paintings and sculptures that are exhibited. Having a private driver was a huge relief and saved us a lot of time on our vacation! He was professional and friendly and also gave us great recommendations for places to eat in London.

VISIT WINDSOR CASTLE

Walk in the footsteps of British royalty at Windsor Castle and uncover 1,000 years of Britain's history! What makes the castle special is that it is still occupied by British royalty. In fact, it is the largest and oldest inhabited castle in the world! See the Grand Reception Room, which is where balls took place. It is lavishly decorated with gold. During Charles II's reign, the castle's interiors were remodeled, as the king was challenged by the achievements at Versailles by Louis XIV, his cousin. One of the additions was beautiful painted ceilings. A large collection of art decorates the walls of the castle. You can see works by Van Dyck, Hans Holbein, and Rubens. You can also see Henry VIII's armor and the castle's furniture and sculptures. Another interesting sight is Queen Mary's Dolls' House from the 1920s, an intricately designed dollhouse that even includes working elevators and running water! You can also see St. George's Chapel, which is a great example of Gothic architecture, built between the 14th and 16th centuries. Royal weddings held here include the weddings of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as well as Prince Edward and Sophie Rhys-Jones.

WHO INHABITED WINDSOR CASTLE?

Windsor Castle was built by William the Conqueror, but he didn't live there. The castle was then used for defense. You can walk in the footsteps of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. Queen Victoria spent most of her time at Windsor Castle. During her reign, the castle served as the main royal residence. Queen Elizabeth II spent much of her childhood in Windsor.
