I really learned so much on this tour, and I’m so glad I booked it! I would have missed so much of the history if it wasn’t for the guide. We heard stories about Henry VIII and the history of Windsor Palace, the history of the University of Oxford, etc. The guide was really professional at their job and answered everyone’s questions, so I learned a lot about the UK’s culture, too. The bus and all of the itinerary was on time, so I’m very happy with the tour!
The tour seems like a good value for money considering we got to see three famous locations and had transportation the whole time. The best part for me was Windsor Castle and learning about its importance to the monarchy. The guide explained everything really well, and I really enjoyed seeing the paintings at the castle.

The ceremonial rooms are a meeting place between the monarch and leaders of other countries. You can see the large malachite urn, which Queen Victoria got from Tsar Nicholas I in the 19th century. Walk through the historic rooms used by Charles II and Catherine of Braganza. You can notice how the rooms gradually become smaller as you approach the private space. This has been a tradition in English palaces for centuries. It wasn’t easy to reach the king and queen, as there was a lot of control, and only the most important people had access to them. There is luxury everywhere you look in Windsor Castle, with gold on the walls, beautiful furniture, sculptures, and many paintings. Don’t miss seeing St. George’s Chapel, known for its Gothic architecture.

Afterward, we’ll take you to Oxford, a city known for its charming Gothic architecture and the famous University of Oxford. The city has the nickname “City of Spires” because of the many towers, most of which are a part of the university’s buildings, mostly built from the 15th to the 17th century. The university was founded all the way back in the twelfth century, though. Oxford later became an important center for printing and publishing. Roger Bacon gave lectures at the university in the 13th century. Some of its alumni include Oscar Wilde, J. R. R. Tolkien, and C. S. Lewis. Then, board the coach again to visit Stonehenge, the famous prehistoric stone monument. Its origins are not exactly known, but it is thought to be a religious site and may have been used to track the movements of the Sun and Moon, as a farming calendar.
